Sometimes it's surprising to learn how visitors perceive Erowid Center, and how they may misunderstand the organization's size: the Erowid staff consists of only five paid crew members, two full-time and three part-time. See office photos:

These five people research, edit and update content; conduct system administration for more than twelve million site visitors per year; direct and implement physical archiving projects; manage membership issues and volunteers; publish Erowid Extracts twice a year; run the EcstasyData project; and generally work hard to keep a finger on the pulse of many types of psychoactive information in a dizzying landscape of data sources.

In the middle of January, taz3, the Hyperreal machine that served Erowid.org and more than 40 other domains for six years and acted as our mail (spam filtering) server for the last three years finally gave up the ghost.
