Just a reminder please be careful with the GHB drug. My niece died because of this drug she ( Hillory Farias ) only drank a sprite someone slipped the drug into her drink and then she went to bed and never woke up. PLEASE BE CAREFUL YOU CANNOT TRUST NO ONE EVEN YOUR FREINDS.

Erowid Note: I don't know quite what to make of this, but for those who are interested, there's a very interesting piece about the case of Hillory Farias that states that the family no longer believes she died of a GHB overdose..unfortunately, the article is no longer available on the web. This obviously contradicts what Raul Farias is saying here. If you have any more info about this case...please let us know.
This is a great site! I have been using the net to search out info on weed and this has been really cool. I found out, however, about a cool new movie coming out about weed called Half Baked. It is supposed to be about smoking and only about smoking. I think that this could be the beginning of the mainstreaming of pot in America.

Ok i have never done DMT before but i think i am going to try it. But i have a ? all i hear or see is people smoking the stuff. I waz told to do this tell me if this will work. I am going to get 28g. of this plant or leafs>Psychotria viridis in water and lemon juice. And simmer them for 30 minutes. 2/1 ration of water to juice. But to take like 3g of Syrian Rue about 40min. before drinking the Brew. I waz also told this will make it last around 4hours? Is this true?

I have found that liquid GHB, sold in small vials, is much different than the powder form. When sold in vials, it tends to be "buffed" with other chemicals such as tranquilizers, creating more of a woozy feeling and causing unconciousness in many people.BUY POWDER. IT IS CLEANER. It was very hard for me to read sections of this web site. You see over the summer my best friend Samira and I tried GHB. We were like sister...we went everywhere together and did everything together, we were inseperable. One night we went to a party at one of our friends houses, there was a bunch of guys there that we didnt know. One of them pulled out a bottle that was filled with I thought was water, he pulled the cap off and filled it with the subsatance and asked if I wanted some. I asked him what it was and he said Liquid X. I didnt know any better so I took it. In a few minutes I was light headed and giggely. I was watching Samira sitting next to me talking to people and having a good time. She had taken a capful of the Liquid X, too. She looked over at me and said "If one capful is good then a lot would be better." Samira was always the adventurous type...always willing to try something new. She picked up the bottle from the table and took two large gulps from it. I watched in horror as people from around the room starting yelling at her and telling her to go throw up or she was dead. They just kept on yelling "What did you do? What did you do?" She stumbled out of the house and I tried to follow her but was light headed and couldnt walk right. When I got outside she was lying on the ground, I yelled for somebody to call an ambulance and just cradled her head in my arms. I just kept calling her name and telling her it would be all right. She started puking up blood and and then just stopped. Her eyes rolled back in her head and she got limp. When the ambulance got their they started doing cpr and trying to revive her.....but they couldnt. My best friend Samira had died in my arms that night....she was only 17.

Re smoking shrooms- I read your comments and was eager to give it a try. I crumbled up a few Liberty Caps and smoked them with a friend in a small pipe.The effects came on in about 5 minutes and lasted for about half an hour. It wasnt a full trip but the effects were well worth the effort-a few visuals and a good all round buzz. My friend was rolling around the floor, but swore blind that he had no effect-I didnt believe him !
My recommendations-definately give it a whirl-It inspired me to take a hefty amount afterwards and enjoy a lively evening. Not many entrys from UK on this site-must do better-cheers.

I am 17 and have tripped twice and i see some pros and some cons to it. The first time i tripped i took 1 blotter and smoked a joint before i started peaking and things were very strange the whole God,man universe thing started happening and i was seeing myself from a third perspective. But i also felt like i was very dumb at the same time i could barely write or spell. Once the weed wore off i was still tripping but felt a lot more mellow and less pairnoid. Ever since that day i have felt different and i cant explain it im a more serious a little depressed and more mature i stopped all pot use after because everytime i use it i start getting bad thoughts? And get depressed and it takes like 2 days. Well i still dont feel fully into reality yet because i still have those blank stares i was wondering how long will this last because i trpped on sept 5 and its only decemeber 6 will it go anyway with time?

while extracting DXM from surup, in stage of evaporation, does applying heat to increase evaporation rate damage final product by reducing potency? I just want to comment on what John says on this page. This is of course my own view and not that of Erowid. It is true that LSD alters ones perception of 'reality' and that is the whole idea. Those scary stories about someone who went on a trip and never came back, or thought he could fly and jumped out of the window, are greatly exagerated although there is probably a grain of truth in them. I personally have taken hundreds of trips during the past 15 years, with numerous people, and I have never met enyone who has suffered permanent damage from psychedelics. But I have met a lot of people who have exerienced the bliss of their life through these drugs and whose understanding of life and of who they are has been greatly enhanced. This does not mean that I consider psychedelics being without danger and I think that all drugs should be treated with respect and common sense. The difference between illusion and 'reality'? Do you know it? How do you define 'reality'? and is that 'reality' yours or someboy elses? This is a very elastic concept. Would you say that the 'reality' of a color-blind person is illusory, since it is not the same as yours or mine? Or is the 'reality' of a muslim more or less real than that of a christian. You must agree that their 'reality' is not the same, so who is living in illusion? I hope that a site like this one will contribute to informing the youth about the pros and cons of using psychedelics, and that the youth can from reliable information draw their own conclusion and form their own life, according to their own needs. I hope that this will give you the insight of another opinion, and just as I respect yours, please respect mine. Gandalf

I am wondering why, if you think the world is such a beautiful place, you require perception-altering drugs to "enhance" it. Psychedelic drugs such as LSD interupt normal brain patterns and the net result is altered perception, sometimes permanently and lethally. Can you not come to enlightenment through contemplation? Do you know the differnce between illusion and reality? It's really scary how many young kids contribute to this site. You could be on a path of self-destruction. It's not pretty. Trust me.
I haven't searched the whole site but maybe you should include an area where the risks of illicit, psychoactive drugs are expounded.

I was wondering-I have been searching the net to find all the contents of
Mescaline. Your page states that the primary sources are Peyote and the
San Pedro cactus-well, I have been told numerous times that mescaline was

I just don't know way people are like "pot is bad we have to stop those potheads they might make our kids smoke it", And then go and get drunk and drive they family home. For one thing the drunk is more likly to hurt your kids or get them to drink then a bruntout pothead is. Personaly I wish they would make boozes illeg not pot. How many potheads get in car atadints becaues they were stoned? Why does your boss care if you smoke a joint after work, heck you could smoke your head off if you wanted to and still go in the next day and do a fine job, but go get drunk and your hungover the next day when it's time for work and thats what coess atidents not POTHEADS.

Can I take GHB while being on prescription of Atenolol for high blood pressure? It is a beta blocker. I thought I may have read somewhere that it shouldn't be mixed. Thanks

As an emergency physician who has treated several cases of GHB overdose, I find that you minimize the consequences of severe overdose. Aside from the "unarrosible sleep" (a.k.a. coma), and the risk of vommiting and aspiration of vommitus in to the lungs, I have treated two individual who went into respiratory arrest, requiring intubation(tube into lungs) and a ventillator. Once the GHB wore off, they did well, however, had they been at home alone or whith others unable to give assistance, or unable to recognize the severity of the situation, these individuals would have died!!!

I read the following on the salvinorin A page
"I have had good experiences smoking 50-75mg of harmala extract (standard Syrian Rue acid/base technique) prior to smoking Salvia. Definitely boosted it by 2X and extended the later stages of the zone for me. This seems illogical to me since the structure of salvinorin A shown is not an amine so MAOI's shlould have no effect. I think this is wishful thinking due to the effects of harmaline.

My name is real, this is my story - it is true.
I live in the UK and have been an alcoholic for a number of years, alcohol has always been a part of my life since I was a teenager. I work on the internet, and earlier this year drinking got so bad I couldn't work properly. A friend on the net told me about gamma - and I did some research on the web. Gamma sounded too good to be true! (especially for alcoholism).
My friend takes G himself and gets pharmaceutical quality. He sent me a bottle which I tried. The first 1/2 teaspoon was great - I stopped drinking straight away and never looked back - that was six months ago. All the reports I read said there was no addiction and very little in the way of side effects. I had no side effects - it was the true 'miracle cure'.
Soon I had gamma with every soft drink - about 10-20 ml per day - no problems - my ability to work and think was amazing - I only took 3 or 4 hours sleep also. The only downside was feeling a bit shaky when without for a few hours - which was rare as I have a constant supply.
A couple of weeks ago I had a brush with the law and was held in custody for twenty two hours.
After about six hours in custody I lost my mind.
I started tripping. I have taken LSD in my youth, and I started tripping asif someone had spiked me with 4 tabs of strong LSD. I was seeing double, could not judge distances / time etc. When I was interviewed I hadn't got a clue what was happening (but fortunately remained silent!). I tried to tell myself it must be something to do with the gamma / dopamine and that I'd be out before long.
The tripping came in waves, I couldn't understand what was being said and was in a universe 1000 times worse than the Twilight Zone. I no longer knew what was real. I say it was like a trip - let me make it clear - a 100% bad trip.
Eventually I was released and got home and had a couple of spoons of G in a drink - but no releif - I was still tripping. More and more G and eventually I lost consciousness for a couple of hours then awoke tripping. Beleive me - I was sh*tting myself by then. Another spoon of G - still no good.
A good close friend called who knew nothing of gamma or tripping or anything similar - and I explained what was happening. He read the C.E.R.I. report I had printed out and took me to his place to stay. We both agreed it was probably due to the dopamine release - knowing it didn't help though - and the trip wasn't wearing off. That was the Saturday morning. I could not sleep that night - which seemed an eternity later, and wave after wave of hallucination, terrors, paranoia continued engulfing me. Sunday - a pure nightmare - passed. I had stopped taking the G. No sleep Sunday - Monday - the same - Tuesday - the same - 24 hour tripping - and beleive me - I had had enough! I could think of nothing else but suicide to make it stop - to end it. Rationally and logically I wanted to order a cab and jump off a local motorway bridge.
Wednesday I saw a doctor, explained what was happening, told him how I just wanted it all to stop and how totally scared I was now - he read the C.E.R.I. report and said I was experiencing withdrawal symptoms and to continue taking the Gamma at the same dosage, gradually reducing it. This advice was a relief, coming from a doctor but the tripping persisted. Once the Gamma levels in me were a constant the tripping calmed down somewhat, but on and off I am still tripping now. This has been the longest couple of weeks in my life, and I am reducing the G intake.
Nowhere have I heard of this type of thing - and I want to make it relly clear that I have not been mixing anything else with the G - no alcohol, no other drugs. I have not been able to function, and I am still scared for my sanity.
If this continues after 'de-toxing' from the gamma I will have to go into a psychiatric unit. If the tripping gets worse I know I will not be able to stick it for long and will more than likely self-terminate.
Please, if anyone has *any* advice / info or knows if this could be the dopamine or if there is an antidote or even how long the tripping will last PLEASE let me know. I'll send copies of this to the CERI people and any other places I know.
I am still scared witless. Too scared to even cry. Believe - this is pure hell.

Just ate some amanitas (I'm not sure if i spelled that right) in Salida Colorado about a month ago. Effects reported: although this is rumored to be a poisonous drug, I feel better that ever mentally especially, it's kind of a way to recharge your mind. very relaxing may cause nausea, I remember eating some amanitas last year, 2 whole ones, caps about 4-5 inches in diameter, these were the orange and white ones where you don't have to peel the poisonous spores, this year it was red ones where the white spores had to be peeled off. Some mild nausea, one of the grrlz threw up, then I couldn't even make it back to the campsite about a quarter mile outside of Salida by the railroad track and fell asleep on a stage in the park. Didn't hallucinate but then again I wasn't awake enough to hallucinate, did have lots of strange dreams where floors became walls, and now that I think of it, someone who dosed a few hours earlier than me kept running into me and couldn't grasp the bowl while we were passing it around. the most common effects are extreme drowziness, 50% chance of vomiting, (increases if you eat anything else) and a half awake half dreamlike state where you can't really move and you don't know if you are awake or not, or if the sounds going on around you are real or not.

maybe some more personal accounts of the use of LSD, has anyone out there noticed that not only does it alter your perception of the environment or your interpretation of your personal environment, but it can also alter the way your environment acts towards you, whether the objects acting towards you are animate or inanimate. Sometimes you might meet people (?) who could be some sort of extraterrestrial being or a person with extrasensory perception, and it is the LSD itself that might have connected you to that particular stimuli? Theories of the universe that come out of people's mouths and pens when they are "peaking" or "coming down" existence on brainwaves, life is a hallucination, etc etc....

I read in your reports ketamine is used as anesthetic drug mainly by vets.
It is not true. I performed thousands anesthetic procedures with ketamine alone and in association with other drugs, and still use it.

Interesting website on GHB. I am researching for a primary care medicine article which will be published for US Navy physicians in operational medicine. Your information is somewhat biased and incorrect in some generalized statements. One web page [www.erowid.org/.../ghb_effects.shtml#low] refers to a "temporarily unrouseable sleep (sometimes mis-characterized as a coma) for 1-4 hours." Labeling the coma of a GHB overdose as a "sleep" is not in the interests of good medicine and consumer information. Overdoses are *routinely* characterized by unconsciousness and lack of spontaneous respirations which would lead to death except for the patient being intubated and placed on a respirator. Ignorance of the side effects has lead to many overdoses which I have had medical involvement.
Otherwise, thank you for a thorough website on the social, scientific, and medical realm of GHB.

I'm an emergency medicine physician, trying to study the long term effects of heavy ketamine use. I've treated a few ravers who have had long term negative psychiatric and cognitive effects which have been very troubling to them. I'm giving a talk soon on Special K to other emergency medicine docs on Special K, and would really appreciate input from anyone who have themselves experienced some long term problems, or know of friends who have. Most ER docs seem to be in the dark about ketamine's recreational uses. Thanks, and take care of yourself.

A petition of those who don't ever recall giving their consent to be governed by the current regime. Also, my senator and congressman tell me that the reason that som many pedophiles are released only to hurt more kids, is that there is no space for them because of the drug war. I feel that what this country really needs is a war on child abuse. Studies have shown that abused children often use drugs to cope with the problmes of abuse, so ending abuse might be more effective than trying to stop drug use with the penal system.

I love your site - I put a link to it from mine becuase I really enjoy taking GHB and want people to know more about the drug. Everyone I've told about GHB say, "isn't that really bad for you" and "oh god, you'd better be careful" but they all take E, Speed and Cocaine and stuff anyway. I've been out clubbing about five times on GHB now and only once have I felt sick, this only lasted a few moments and then passed. The only other adverse effect I've found the drug have is that one miniute I'll be talking to my friends then the next thing I know I wake up 60 seconds later... it's only happened a couple of times and I think it's quite fun!!! It doesn't make me feel tierd though, just kinda' loving and dancey and horny and hot and sexy!!! Thanks for the info - It would be good if you could guide people towards a safe supply because it seems that a correct dose from a reliable dealer would make GHB the perfect recreational drug. I also like the way I feel after GHB, for about a day after I've taken it I feel really nice and 'easy going', I feel abit distant, but hey, it sure feels nice!!! Thanks again.
