Gabriel G. Nahas, M.D., Ph.D., is an internationally known pharmacologist and educator who lectures and conducts seminars all over the world. He is professor of anesthesiology at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University, adjunct professor at the University of Paris, consultant to the United Nations Commission on Narcotics, and member of the board of the parent group, PRIDE. Dr. Nahas is the author of fiteen books and monographs and more than 600 papers, a quarter of them on dependence-producing drugs.

Dr. Nahas sees cooperation between the USA and USSR as absolutely essential for enforcing the international legislation which bans the traffic of the most addictive drugs--cannabis, opiates and cocaine. He believes we must rebut arguments of the social nihilists and pseudoscientific sophists who are clamoring for the relegalization of drugs which make robots out of human beings. Quoting from the Preamble of the UNESCO Charter, the author says, "Since war starts in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that it has to be fought."
