Abstract
The formation, by enzymatic oxidation, of a physiologically inactive metabolite of LSD has been previously reported (Axelrod et al., Nature 178: 143, 1956). . The trichloroacetate of LSD reacts with disulphur dichloride in benzene to yield a disulphide which, by reductive hydrolysis, gives a compound identical with the metabolite obtained by enzymatic oxidation.
