“The effect of LSD and reserpine on the central nervous system of the cat. The antagonism between LSD and chlorpromazine or reserpine.”.
Jap. J. Pharmacol.. 1958;7:119.
Abstract
In non-anesthetized cats the arousal effect of LSD given intraventricularly or intravenously was antagonized by chlorpromazine and reserpine in the motor cortex but not in the amygdala. EEG arousal due to repeated stimulation of the reticular formation was not modified by LSD and reserpine. . The recruiting response to repeated stimulation of the central medial nucleus was suppressed by LSD but not by reserpine. The effect of LSD was antagonized by chlorpromazine but not by reserpine. . The second component of the local cortical potential was depressed by LSD and reserpine. Chlorpromazine and reserpine antagonized the effect of LSD. . The transcallosal evoked potential was suppressed by LSD but not altered by reserpine. The effect of LSD was antagonized by chlorpromazine but not by reserpine. . The cortical potential changes produced by splanchnic stimulation were inhibited by LSD. The effect of LSD was not antagonized by chlorpromazine and reserpine.
