Abstract
Chronic LSD intoxication in the rabbit: Viadril was the most effective agent in preventing or suppressing the EEG changes due to LSD. Methylandrostanolone and 5501 DE (phenothiazine derivative) were very effective. 5-hydroxytryptamine was moderately effective. Seven other agents studied had little or no effect. . Acute LSD intoxication in the rabbit: Viadril, methylandrostanolone and 5501 DE were most effective agents in preventing or suppressing the EEG changes due to LSD. The arousal effect of LSD was abolished by 5-hydroxytryptamine, acepromazine and, to a lesser extent, viadril and chlorpromazine.
