Abstract
The effects of 10 to 300 mcg/kg LSD i.m. was studied in 11 dogs (5 controls). . Blood sugar: The maximum hypoglycemic effect was seen after 100 mcg/kg between the second and sixth hours. . Body temperature: The maximal hyperthermic effect was seen after 100 mcg/kg within 15 to 45 minutes. . Pupil: A mydriatic effect set in after 15 to 20 minutes and lasted several hours. . Salivation: A copious flow set in after 15 minutes and lasted for 6 hours. . Nervous system: Effects set in within 20 to 40 minutes, 200 mcg/kg exerting the optimal effect. The main effects were ataxia, passiveness, lack of reaction to pain and light and increased reactivity to sound.
