“Action comparative de la mescaline, du LSD-25 et de la yagéine sur la température centrale du rat ”.
J.Physiol.. 1960;52:70.
Abstract
LSD (0.3-0.5 mg/100 Gm. i.p.) increased rectal temperature in 7 of 10 rats (by 1.5-3.6 degrees) and decreased temperature in 3 animals (by 1.4-2.9 degrees). Three of 4 rats died following 0.5 mg/100 Gm. . Mescaline (0.8-12 mg. [per 100 Gm.?] i.p.) decreased temperature (by 1-4.7 degrees) in 17 out of 20 rats the effect being approximately proportional to dosage. One of 2 rats died after the 12 mg. dose. The pyretogenic effect of tetra-B-hydronaphtylamine (THNA) was inhibited in 10 of 16 experiments. . Yageine (0.5-1 mg. [per 100 Gm.?] i.p.) decreased temperature in all of 18 rats (by 1-6.8 degrees) the effect being approximately proportional to dosage. The pyretogenic effect of THNA was irregularly affected. Following the 0.75 mg. dose 1 of 5 rats died, and following the 1 mg. dose 1 of 4 rats.
